Minutes, Board Meeting 22 October 2008
The meeting was called to order at Gold Beach Books at 1810. In attendance: Stansell, Spicer, Davis, Hughes, Cyparski.
- August 20, 2008 minutes were approved with changes. September 17, 2008 minutes were approved as submitted.
- Hughes submitted several options for monthly Treasurer's reports. Davis recommended receiving a monthly Profit & Loss Budget vs. Actual Report and a monthly Balance Sheet. Board concurred.
- Hughes and Cyparski will make sure all members have been added to the Rotary International Website.
- Davis received packet for the 2009 Outgoing Exchange Student program.
- Amy Timeus and Lisa Carlson want to be involved in the Student of the Month selection process. Selected students will receive a $25 gift certificate to Gold Beach Books and a Student of the Month Recognition Certificate. Hughes will purchase eight months of the gift certificates.
- Spicer received a copy of the members who volunteered to be Program Chairs. Don Stultz has offered to assist with programming.
- Spicer and Stansell will attend the October 25, 2008 TRF Seminar in Cottage Grove.
- Stansell has been reviewing (36) District 5110 Simplified Grants and will continue the process at the TRF Seminar in Cottage Grove.
- Correspondence received included information on a Wild Rivers Community Foundation Grant Writing Seminar and South Coast Community Resource Center requesting uncollected Christmas Giving Tree Program donations.
- Stansell provided a draft copy of "By-Laws of the Rotary Club of Gold Beach" for review.
- Hughes motioned to appoint Mary Stansell, President and Peter Peterson, Vice President for the 08/09 year. Spicer seconded the motions. Motions for the new positions carried.
- Motion to adjourn made by Davis. Meeting adjourned at 6:55 PM.
