Minutes, Board Meeting 21 October 2009
The meeting was called to order at the Showcase Building at 1303. In attendance: Petersen, Davis, Sayler, Hughes and Cyparski.
- September 16 Minutes were approved as submitted in email on 10/20/09.
- Treasurer report was approved as emailed on 10/20/09.
- Hughes has submitted fiscal yearend financial information to Jeff Kemp, CPA for review but has received no confirmation of receipt.
- Hughes reported that the Gold Beach Community Foundation has prepared a letter to request $1500 for Curry Cares for Kids from the Oregon Community Foundation.
- Saylor discussed adding monthly telephone allowance of $30 for Exchange Student. Davis recommended added the $30 to the $125 stipend for a total monthly stipend check of $155 starting in November. This was agreed upon by Board.
- Hughes acknowledged Brookings Rotarian Dr Walker's presentation of $198 from proceeds of Ducky Derby. Marlyn Schafer's efforts in this fundraiser endeavor were recognized.
- Proposed members Keith Kirkpatrick of Gymnastics by Design and Greg Paluch, Postmaster were approved by Board. Proper procedure requires posting in Bulletin for (2) consecutive weeks then presented to Club by Membership Committee. Should be complete for November membership.
- Peterson has proposed new members Cory Baird of the Gold Beach Library and Ellen Barnes, City Administrator but still needs to complete Membership Application to make proposal official.
- Peterson mentioned amount of correspondence received from Spicer's office in his absence but hasn't had time to respond.
- Cyparski shared email request received for Matching Grant funds from Argentina. Board discussed as inappropriate procedure.
- Board discussed possible fundraising ideas including selling See's Candy and Almond Roca during the upcoming holiday season. It was suggested to involve new members in this campaign.
